Our mission
You Are Not Alone (YANA) aims to support African and Caribbean women living in Ashford by delivering peer support and engagement to help with tackling social isolation; food poverty; hygiene poverty; and mental wellness. YANA will be supporting specifically women who have fled domestic violence and on a low income with culturally appropriate food parcels; support; and well-being information. The purpose of the Group to support people who are suffering and have suffered domestic abuse, support single mothers, advance mental health awareness with the facilitation of peer to peer practical support groups. This project is currently funded for 12 months by The National Lottery Community Funds.
The beneficiaries are people who actively seek appropriate support for collective transformation and personal growth.
YANA provides opportunities for networking, sharing and exchanging information relating to the core aims of the Group.

YANA coordinates forums to empower people and increase self-confidence, self-esteem with a focus on British born people of African and African Caribbean descent.
